Create, publish and sell your own game using the Year Zero Engine with the Free Tabletop License (FTL), or your own adventures and supplements for our core game lines using our open third-party game licenses.

Third-Party GAME Licenses

Our third-party open game licenses are are royalty-free and irrevocable, allowing you to publish supplements for the following games in a wide range of languages, including English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Polish, Portuguese, and more. Click on each link to find the license text for the game in question:

Make sure you read it carefully before proceeding. All provisions of the license must be followed for your supplement to be legal. Note that only the game lines listed above are included in the program, and that you are only allowed to publish supplements fully compatible with the core game in question – alternative rules and rulesets are not allowed.

Year Zero Engine Free Tabletop License

The Year Zero Engine Free Tabletop License (FTL) differs from the third-party game licenses above as it allows you to create your own tabletop RPG using the acclaimed Year Zero Engine. The FTL gives you an irrevocable, worldwide, and royalty-free right to use the Year Zero Engine Standard Reference Document (YZE SRD) and freely publish your own roleplaying games based on it. The YZE FTL license can be found here and the YZE SRD (version 1.0) can be acccessed here. You may not use any Free League brand names or other copyrighted material beyond the SRD and the YZE FTL logo.
