Martin Takaichi has been working with games in one form or another for most of his life, after falling in love with the medium when introduced to DungeonQuest at a formative age. Having a broad appetite for all kinds of games – everything from miniature gaming to roleplaying games to board games to video games and even LARP – Martin started working with Free League in 2018 to help with the development of Crusader Kings – The Board Game and soon after began work on designing Tales From the Loop – The Board Game.
He is up for playing any kind of game, but is especially drawn to quirky or eccentric designs and games with unique themes. Science fiction of all kinds has been a fascination of his thanks to an uncle who used to re-tell, slightly edited, Clarke and Heinlein short stories, as well as describe highlights from Star Wars. Tolkien has had a huge influence on his approach to world building in games and also his love for the outdoors.
Martin today lives with his wife and two daughters in the suburbs of Stockholm. Not far from where the Loop used to run, under the Mälaren islands.
